toilet cleaning hacks

Cleaning a toilet may not be the most glamorous task, but it is an essential one. A clean toilet not only looks better, but it also helps prevent the spread of germs and bacteria. Here are a few basic toilet cleaning hacks and methods that can help keep your toilet sparkling clean. First of all is our tried and tested method that works every time.

One Of The Best Toilet Cleaning Hacks

Step 1 – Remove the water. Most people will use all sorts of methods. Although most are very good. Not many people will remove the water first. So no matter what method you use, it is immediate diluted.

Step 2 – Apply limescale remover. This is an important step. Use limescale remover, not bleach. Bleach will simply change the color of the stain but will not remove them. This will result in a buildup over time and will make it much hard to clean at a later date. Leave this for as long as possible. At least half an hour. We tend to apply the limescale remover first, clean the rest of the bathroom and then go back to cleaning the toilet

Step 3 – Give it a good scrub. For this you want to use a green scouring pad. Nothing harsher than this as it may damage the toilet surface. Once done flush the toilet and inspect the results. Repeat if needed but you should not have to let it soak this time.

Step 4 – Flush and wipe clean. Now that you have finished scrubbing simply flush the toilet and wipe clean with a microfibre cloth. Ensuring no limescale remover residue is left.

Why Is Toilet Cleaning Important?

Toilet cleaning is a task that nobody enjoys, but it’s something that has to be done.
According to a study published in the Journal of Applied Microbiology, “Effective lavatory cleaning practices are crucial in preventing the spread of harmful bacteria and viruses in public and private settings.” (Smith et al., 2019). The study emphasizes the importance of thorough and regular cleaning of lavatories to maintain hygiene standards and reduce the risk of infections.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), advises that maintaining proper hygiene in lavatories is crucial in preventing the spread of diseases. Neglecting lavatory cleaning can lead to the accumulation of harmful bacteria and viruses, increasing the risk of illnesses such as chronic diarrhea. Proper cleaning practices, including regular disinfection of surfaces, washing hands thoroughly, and ensuring proper ventilation, are essential in reducing the transmission of infectious agents. By prioritizing cleanliness in lavatories, we not only create a more pleasant environment but also contribute to safeguarding public health.
